The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter departed Lismore for the 60min flight to South West Rocks. The flight and medical crews located the scene of the incident near an area called the Gutter. The 36yo female walker was initially treated by local NSWA Paramedics and Rural Fire Service personnel.
Due to the remote location it required the Westpac Helicopter to winch in the Paramedic and Doctor with suitable rescue recovery equipment. The helicopter medical team stabilised the patient further and prepared the patient for winch recovery to the helicopter.
The winch recovery was conducted at last light was tasked by NSW Ambulance Service to an MVA north of Kyogle, fortunately no serious injuries occurred from this incident. No drivers or passengers required helicopter transport.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance Service to assist Queensland Ambulance Service with the treatment and transport of a 35yo male suffering a serious medical condition in the Mt Lindesay area. The male patient was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
Shortly after returning from the previous mission the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance Service to assist with the treatment and recovery of a 17yo skateboard rider who had suffered serious head injuries in the Red Rock area north of Coffs Harbour. The 17yo was stabilised on scene by the helicopter Doctor and Paramedic and transported through to GCUH in a serious condition.
