Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey said the program aims to maintain the safety of surf lifesaver volunteers as they serve the community.
“The Surf Club Facilities Program provides funding for facilities in the Coffs Harbour electorate and across NSW,” Ms Pavey said.
“We all know how important surf lifesavers are to beach side communities both through protecting us when we swim and providing opportunities for a diverse range of people to give back through volunteering.”
“Our local surf life savers also benefit through maintaining health and fitness while enjoying our beautiful beaches.”
Types of projects that will be funded include:
- construction of new surf club facilities;
- capital enhancement of the facilities at existing clubs; and
- providing ancillary and support facilities at existing venues.
Applications close February 10.
