Stories in the media of late, told of charities appealing to the public to donate clean and usable items. However, they were unable to use a lot of donations as they were sub-standard, dirty, torn and only fit for garbage.

The Anglican Op Shop was swamped last week with donations, not all in a good state unfortunately, so now our two red bins are full again and ready for the tip, it only took four days to fill them!
Also, despite notices asking people not to leave anything at the front door over the Christmas break, this was ignored and some even dumped stuff at the back door, so we could hardly open it.
There is a very good refuse collection place in Bellingen if you don't have red bins, we at the Anglicare shop in Bellingen hate to be used as a dump.
We welcome clothing in good clean condition, plus other items, now including small electrical items in working order (a semi-retired electrician is now inspecting on our behalf), but our valuable time is best spent sorting items which we can recycle and sell in our shop … this enables locals and visitors to buy at a reasonable and competitive price.
We are all sick of handling dirty, smelly and disgusting clothing quite honestly, so before you bring it to us, just ask yourself if your friends would like to be given it instead.
A happy new year to all our customers and bless those for bringing us clean and preloved items to sell.
We also welcome energetic people to become volunteers, just call in and see us for details.
