Many of the artists that produced last year’s prize winning works of art will be back with their creations, along with some new and exciting sculptors.
In the youth section, which is sponsored by Solar Depot Bellingen, Urunga Public School, Raleigh Public School and Sawtell Public School students along with some budding young individual sculptors have produced works with distinctive environmental messages.
There will be more than 50 sculptures, displayed for all to enjoy.
There is a total of $2100 prizes that will be given to the winners of the different categories, including the grand prize sponsored by the ‘Combined Urunga Businesses’.
Runners up is sponsored by the UMCC. The small sculpture category is sponsored by Bellingen Shire Council and the people’s choice for best sculpture, is sponsored by Affirmations Publishing House.
The difficult task of judging winners will be taken on by Shan Blake who has a long career in many aspects of visual arts on the Mid North Coast, Kempsey area; and Jeremy Sheehan, well-respected tutor at the Coffs Harbour, TAFE, Visual Arts Campus.
Live music will be playing on the outdoor stage, with The Jug Addicts from Armidale and Bellingen’s very own jazz maestro, Brett Iggulden and the Night Hawks.
There will be food and beverages available and the Urunga Riverside Markets will be on to add variety to the day.
