The Strategic Plan has identified the key processes involved in meeting the Society’s vision for the show and provides a framework for the operation and performance for the future of the Bellingen Show.
The Society’s vision for the Show is that it be – “A sustainable, inclusive community event which reflects the past, celebrates the present and looks to the future”. The Bellingen Show is an historic annual event that aims to engage, entertain and educate our community.
Sunday’s meeting concentrated on compliance and governance and put in place actions to achieve this prior to next year’s show to be held 20 and 21 May 2017.
The Committee has redefined the position of secretary to a Manager/Co-Ordinator position as this role involves the overall operational, administrative and people managing areas of the running of the Show.
This position is currently vacant and the Society is keen to appoint a Manager/Co-ordinator as soon as possible. The Committee will provide plenty of assistance to the successful applicant and the previous secretary has set up an excellent system for the new Manager to work from. If you think you have these skills, please see the Positions Vacant advertisement in this week’s Courier Sun.
The Show Society is a dynamic and progressive group that is committed to the success and sustainability of the Bellingen Show. We welcome new members and volunteers and we are keen to hear from you if you would like to be involved in whatever capacity you are comfortable with.
Volunteers are critical to the running of the Show.
Last year over 250 volunteers helped out over the Show weekend! We particularly need assistance in the areas of Sponsorship, the Mantova art show and the Cooking Demonstration area.
The email address is secretary@bellingenshow.com.au or give President Ted Greenwood a call on 0410315873 – we would love to hear from you.
