“As of September 16 the intricacies of accessing this this highway south of Waterfall Way remains,” Mr Williams said. “It is still necessary to head north to Coffs Harbour and exit at Mailmans Track (effectively doing a U-turn).”
So what is happening with the roundabout and when can locals go south without the backtracking?
Soon is the simple answer from the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
“RMS recently opened the $780 million Nambucca to Urunga upgrade, and is now completing finishing works on the upgrade,” a spokesperson said.
“Road resurfacing and new line marking at the Waterfall Way Raleigh turn off is expected to be finished by the end of October, weather permitting.
“Once this work is complete motorists travelling south will be able to access the Pacific Highway from the Waterfall Way interchange.”
