The concert was well-attended and greatly enjoyed by a cultured crowd of eighty people. Many travelled from Coffs Harbour and even further afield for a rare evening of Opera on the North Coast.
The beautiful historic hundred and seven year old Hammond and Wheatley building lent itself perfectly to such an event, with its ambience, glorious acoustics, the romantic age- worn timber stair case and vaulted ceilings.
The event was a fund-raiser for mezza soprano Gabriella Giacomin and her husband Luka Frattini’s lovely daughter Suri who was born with Down-Syndrome. All proceeds will go towards her travels to the US for further theropy.
The evening was a great success. Special thanks to Anne Rosewood the owner of Emporium Bellingen and her lovely team for hosting this beautiful event. Ann said, ‘That she would be happy to do another concert like this in the warmer months of the year.’ Thank you to Bellingen Brewery, Purple Carrot café, Hearthfire café and the Bellingen Lolly Shop for your contributions and support.
The amount that was raised was just over $2000. What an amazing result. This will go towards Suri’s travels to the US for further theropy.
