Dorrigo Multi Purpose Service has received a generous donation from John Byrne, the son of the late Mavis Byrne who nursed at Dorrigo Hospital from the mid-1950s to 1970.

The family purchased an electric bed, bought specifically for providing nursing care in the home.
The bed, valued at $2100, is able to be transported with ease and will provide comfort and care to those in the community who require that level of support, Nurse Manager Lynn Forsyth said.
In memory of Mavis Byrne, the family asked we acknowledge her contribution to the Dorrigo community by publishing an extract from her favourite poem: I Know Something Good About Youby Louis C. Shimon.
Wouldn't this old world be better
If the folks we meet would say -
"I know something good about you!"
And treat us just that way?
Wouldn't it be nice to practice
