The extra 100m of the Bowraville feature should suit her perfectly.
Ebony Rein’s effort at Ballina showed she was back to her best after a trip to Sydney, and with the prospect of rain affected going at Bowraville, she is likely to have lots of support to maintain her unbeaten record at the track.
Last start Coffs winner Racers ‘N’ Chasers has also been in great form with two wins and two places from his last four starts, and he also has a win in soft going on his record, while another Coffs gelding, Champagne Rock, comes into the mix with some proven wet track form.
Saturday’s supporting feature, the 1000m Lightning Bend Handicap, is the most open for years with the Wauchope sprinter Alpine Dragon the top rated nominee. Four of the gelding’s wins have been at the distance and he too has wet track form to offset his lack of recent racing.
Nambucca River Jockey Club will be hoping that fine weather persists during the week to allow Saturday’s highlight of the Nambucca sporting and social calendar to go ahead.
Aside from the racing, the usual Cup day activities will supplement the action on track.
