The mighty U/7 Magpies travelled to Coffs Harbour on Saturday to take on the Coffs Comets in an encounter that left players from both sides seeing stars.
After a week off basking on the banks of the Bellinger River due to the school holidays the boys were a little rusty and make some early handling errors and missed a few tackles, which allowed the comets slip ahead. But in a game dominated by ferocious defence, the boys rallied and with some determined tackling and running by Riley Morgan, Deegan Young, Charlie Carter, Hullie Anderson, Zac Suter and Riley Humphries who combined with Beau Glyde’s weaving run, skilful tackles and offloads from Tyler Travers and Nate Richards. The boys launched a number of attacking raids only to come up short after stiff defence from the comets.
For the rest of the game the Magpies showed what a gutsy little team they are by matching it with the Comets, repelling raid after raid with fantastic team defence. Well done to all players on another great team performance.

U8s
Travelling to Coffs Harbour this week the U8s are gaining confidence every week. Some great runs from Tex Casey. Toby Johnson saw the boys making good metres with Callan Rose barrelling over the line for a try.
Good defence by Chad Taylor, Beau Bellew, Mekhi Parrey and Riley Morgan with some try saving tackles from the boys.
All the boys put in a massive effort in both attack and defence with each of them helping where needed. These U8s, week after week, put in 100 per cent and the way they support and look after each other is impressive. Keep it up boys.
