Neil is survived by his children; Daniel, Alex and Hugh; grandchild Niko;and siblings Juanita and Colin.
Neil was born on September 9, 1951 in Melbourne and moved to Bellingen in the early 1990s after a successful career as promotions manager (artist and repertoire) for Polygram records through the 1970s and 1980s. In this role he worked with groups such as the Moody Blues, Suzie and the Banshees, Elton John, Tears for Fears, James Brown … to name a few.
During his time in the shire, Neil was an integral part of the local community. His achievements and involvements include manager of the Bellingen Community Markets, radio presenter for 2BBBFM and ABC regional radio.
He held committee responsibilities for Open Arms Care, and was also MC extraordinaire for many local events, including Camp Creative and the Bellingen Singer Songwriter group. Family and friends of Neil are invited to a public celebration of the life and times of ‘the man in the white hat’ on Saturday, May 30 at 10am for a 10.30 start at Bellingen’s Market Park (Main Stage area).
