Before the days of Netflix and Youtube, films were first seen on the big screen with the real cinema experience. You would organise to meet up with your friends (sans mobile phones), catch up and socialise, and when the lights went down in the cinema you would enjoy the sounds of the audiences’ reactions in an experience that still has no equal even in the digital revolution.

How about if you could relive that feeling again with your family?
Sunday At The Pictures has curated an adventure classics program running over May and June at Bellingen Memorial Theatre. Willow and The Goonies will be on the big screen on May 31 and June 21 respectively to show the golden years of adventure films to a whole new generation.
Sunday At The Pictures Kate Howat said watching the movie Willow was like seeing Lord of the Rings for the first time.
“The special effects were out of this world,” Kate said.
“It was a ground breaking film from heavyweights George Lucas and Ron Howard. I’m delighted we get to share these classics with the next generation of cinema goers.”
