The flower arrangement will be carried by the Mortimers to Turkey and laid at Gallipoli at the Centenary of ANZAC commemorations on April 25. The wreath’s ribbon is embroided with words: Deepest gratitude from the Bellingen Shire community, mayor Mark Troy OAM, Bellingen Australia, Lest We Forget.
In addition, Brian and Kathy will also take a wreath to Gallipoli on behalf of the Bellingen sub branch.
The beautiful artificial flower arrangements were made by Newry Island’s Jenny Harry.
Jenny spent many hours on the creations and encountered a few hiccups along the way due to size restrictions and the requirement for durability.
One of the wreaths is on display at the Bellingen Council Chambers until tomorrow.
