After raising more than $15,000 - twice as much as they were aiming for - at a twilight reception held at Bellingen’s Butter Factory in November last year, local charity group, Emakhaya 4 Gogo (Homes for Grandma) have provided two Swazi grandmothers and one Swazi grandfather caring for HIV/AIDs orphans with new homes.

In addition to the three new homes, the money has also provided the Swaziland grandmothers to set up income generating schemes.
The team would like to thank the generosity of Ray, Pia and staff at the Old Butter Factory Café, the local community, businesses who donated prizes, performers who gave their time and those who helped with the event. Special thanks goes Bellingen Rotary Club for their $4000 donation.
Emakhaya 4 Gogo works with non-profit organisation Possible Dreams International who provide housing, food, water and medical care for families in rural Swaziland living with extreme poverty, malnutrition and endemic disease. The local group built two homes, for Gogo Joyce and Gogo Thandi in 2013 and was formed by Swazi-born Kalang mother Mandy Hubbard.
