Thanks to local personal trainer Tim Francis from Belfit, a group of Bellinger Shire locals are feeling a whole lot more confident about getting into their summer gear this holiday season.

Over the past 10 weeks, people aged from 14 to 70 took part in a body challenge, which concluded with the Dorrigo Show fun run and the announcement they’d lost a total of 70.4 kg. It was a fitting end for many who thought their goals were out of reach, especially Dorrigo resident Emma Spargo who took out the top weight loss spot followed by Dione Smith and Aaron Ruigrok.
Other accolades went to: Jodie Hyatt took out the ‘Chest Pumper’ award for most improved in the push up test; Sandra Francis had a new title behind her name when she was the new owner of the ‘Leg Launcher’ award for the most improved beep test; and Kate Young shocked and impressed everyone when she received the Gut Buster award from most improved sit up. At the start of the challenge she was able to do 65 in a row and by the end she was able to do 400 plus sit ups.
New resident to the area, Phoebe Wood, tok home the Rookie award and Ashlee Follet taking home the Dedication and Motivation award. Now that the challenge is over people have found them selves in new bodies and with some new friends who they wouldn’t have normally met.
