It was generally agreed that both first and reserve grade could have won a couple more games given some tight finishes.
The Under 18s again made the semis and were competitive throughout the season and showed what a talented group of young men they are. The club can but thank the Nambucca players who came to the Magpies and strengthened all grades – they showed superb commitment.
Also the three Kiwi imports - Richie, Dom and Tyler - thank you. To the locals who kept turning up all year - a fantastic effort, gentlemen. To get three grades to Grafton two weeks in a row so late in the season amazed the whole of group 2.
All players in all grades can be especially proud of the effort they put in over the year.
Thank you to the three coaches, Maurie ‘Stress Head’ Hulbert, John Bond and Peter Glyde and all the managers, trainers and League Safe guys who supported them.
Without the support of major sponsors Diggers Tavern, Beachside Radiology and Bridgestone Urunga, the Magpies would not be able to field teams so please support them.
Major award winners were:
Most Inspirational Player: Tyler Schreurs.
Best Local Product: Jason Spillett.
Highest Point scorer: Luke Beaumont.
Stephen Glyde Medal / Player Of The Year: Luke Beaumont.
