Pianist Mei Wei Lim has been inspired by the beauty of ballet after working with local ballet dancers for their exam recitals. As a result, Mei has crafted a recital of piano music rejoicing in the art of dance. The program of works from great classical composers features the waltz, polka, country dances, Spanish and Czech dances, and many more.

The concert showcases ballerinas from the Rivers Dance Studio and the Julie Ross Dance Studio, some of whom have created their own choreography to enhance the beautiful hand-picked music.
Special guest, Bellingen violin prodigy Lachlan Wilkins will be performing Beriot's Scene de Ballet – a virtuosic work featuring a myriad of moods, speeds and techniques designed to leave you breathless.
Seventeen-year-old Lachlan performed this particular piece in his recent AMEB AMusA violin examination in Sydney, for which he was awarded a highly-prized distinction. The ballerinas in this concert also received excellent results, including high distinctions, at their Cechetti ballet exams.
This amalgamation of music and dance is sure to satisfy any artistic souls, so come and enjoy the wonderful talent we have in the region. Concert is on 7pm Saturday 8 November 8 at Bellingen Memorial Hall. Tickets $15 at the door.
