Glen was awarded the CSC in the 2014 Australia Day Honours List in recognition for his recent achievements in overseeing Army's extensive base support contracts and for driving significant garrison reforms across Defence.
Glen and his family were excited to attend the Investiture Ceremony on May 2, where he received the symbols of his award. Glen's teenage children capitalized on the opportunity to pose for photos with other award recipients such as actor Geoffrey Rush and Olympian Sally Pearson.
Lieutenant Colonel Glen Braithwaite CSC has served over 25 years in the Australian Regular Army. He has twice deployed overseas on operational service. Glen's family have accompanied him throughout his 12 postings across Australia, including two years spent in the USA, serving alongside the United States Marine Corps.
Glen's parents, Errol and Ruth Braithwaite, who are long time locals in the Bellingen Valley, are understandably proud of Glen's achievements.
