Leading from the front in the 11s, Declan kicked several goals and worked hard all day, all over the ground.
Declan was ably assisted by the hard tackling of a very determined Ptolemy.
James was set many tasks all over the ground and won praise for his fine efforts. In his first game of AFL football, Jude stole the limelight down back, and when put forward, kicked a terrific goal. Jacob dominated in the ruck and kicked a few goals, while Sam was outstanding all over the ground.
Kyan was a pocket dynamo, taking gutsy marks and always putting himself into the best position for the team, while Leo really enjoyed the wet conditions and chimed in with his own goal when put forward.
The U13s started with similar skills to Hawthorn on Friday night with Pat in the ruck giving first choice to Sam, Jim and Lawrence who took complete advantage moving the ball into the forward line with ease.
Shane, with strong hands, took some great marks and delivered, with Oli and Declan roving the packs beautifully in the difficult, sloppy conditions. Jack and Max were rock solid down back with Captain Jarrah, and kept the Tigers scoreless.
Coaches, Budge and Adam, were extremely proud of the boys’ effort, with some impressive displays of teamwork shown.
All are look forward to an exciting year for the Bulldogs.
Next week is the first Home Game against the Sawtell Saints
