Police were called to a high school on Centenary Drive after 8.30am on Thursday.
Students reported to the school office that a student had a bow and arrows on the school grounds.
A male teacher confronted a 16-year-old male student in the playground about the allegations.
The youth allegedly grabbed the hidden bow and arrows; the bow was successfully wrestled free by the teacher.
The student ran from the school, with the arrows, and hasn’t been seen since.
Police were called and attended. Inquiries into the location of the 16-year-old and the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
