The 16 years girls did extremely well through the entire tournament.

Their passing game was second to none with the biggest concern being could they go the distance.

Day one ¨C ready to go . Bellingen High School defeated Camden Haven High School (8-2). Jess Marks scored four goals, Sam Barker two, Brie Thomas one and Stella Robinson one).

Bellingen High School defeated St Andrews College, Cairns (7-4). Sam Barker scored four goals, Jess Marks two and Brie Thomas one).

Bellingen High School defeated Maclean High School (9-6). In this game Jess Marks bagged five goals, Brie Thomas two and Zali Rees two.

Day two ¨C the girls a little tired . Bellingen High School defeated Chancellor College (4-2). Jess Marks scored all the goals.

Bellingen High School lost to Marsden College (2-3). Jess Marks and Brie Thomas were the goal scorers.

Bellingen High School defeated Sarina College (10-3).  Jess Marks scored five goals, Zali

Rees two, Sam Barker one, Amelia Brewin one and Millie King one.

Bellingen High School defeated St Peter Clavier (5-3) with Jess Marks bagging four goals and Sam Barker the other one.

Day three ¨C the girls very tired Bellingen High School lost to Robina (3-5). Sam Barker two goals, and Brie Thomas one.

This result placed Bellingen High School in the semi-finals against Chancellor College, as overall they had scored more goals than Marsden High School.

In a game where Bellingen dominated, it appeared more and more like the ball could not or would not find its way into the net.

Brie Thomas slotted one in to put the team in front but as the game went on the score did not change despite many brilliant lead up plays.

In the last two minutes, Chancellor scored to tie the game up and put the team in to golden goal extra time.

Finally, great lead up work saw Jess Marks score and the team were in the final.

This meant the teams 10th and final game would be against other semifinal winner St Andrews who defeated Marsden in a penalty shoot out.

The girls were pumped for the final when they took the court. Both Jess and Sam hit the post early in the game and things were looking like it would be hard to score.

Sam put a great long ball to Jess at far post who headed it in putting the team one up. Then towards the end off the half Sam scored a great shot from wide near half.

The girls were happy at half time with the score 2-0 but there was still 20 minutes to go.

They took the court second half and St Andrews scored almost straight away. This sparked the opposition who began throwing everything at the team.

Unfortunately, the girls started getting injured and running out of legs, as constant substitutions had to be made. St Andrews were relentless as the game slipped away and the final score blew out to 5-2.

The girls were gallant in defeat and worthy runners up at the Australian Titles.

After nine-and-a-half games it was the last 20 minutes that beat them.

Sam Barker was deservedly named in the Sylas Phillips in the Under 8s flags final All Stars team.
