The “However, in recent months enforcement activities have been focused in other areas, primarily in response to resident complaints,” Mr Hannavy said. “With limited resources, the focus for enforcement actions is continually shifting.”
“However, Council will be erecting a new sign at Roses Reserve to clearly state that camping is prohibited, which will act as a deterrent.
“Previously, Council removed an unauthorised sign at Thora Reserve that incorrectly stated that there was a three day limit on camping. Council also advises people that they should not be making donations to any ‘honesty box’ that may have been placed at the reserve,” he said.
“However, until such time as an authorised camping area is established, camping will remain a prohibited activity at the reserve. Council does not turn a blind eye to unauthorised activities, and will respond immediately to any public complaint.”
