Urunga bowls day a success

12 Jan, 2010 09:36 AM
Organisers were delighted with the response to the "Come and Try Lawn Bowls" day at Urunga last Saturday when nearly 30 prospective bowlers turned up to try their hand at the game. The emphasis was on relaxation and fun with a barbecue winding up a great afternoon's entertainment.

Many had never tried lawn bowls before but they had a lot of fun and were ably assisted by the Club's coaches Carol Anthony, Jock Fisher, Elaine Hetherington and Beryl Titmuss. It was apparent that there was plenty of latent talent and several of those who came along are thinking seriously about taking up the game and keen to have another go. Most importantly Urunga's coaches are only too happy to assist and coaching services are free.

For those who missed out on a great afternoon but would like further information they can contact either Dorothy Boatfield ph 66556780, Wendy Morrin ph 66555560 or Warwick Fawbert ph 66553842 or go to the Club's web site www.urungabowlingclub.com.au
