Pictured above are two very nervous bowlers who met last Thursday to play for the Minor Singles title - Shirley Pascoe (left) and Beryl Titmuss (right).
In spite of their nerves both players put down some excellent bowls with congratulations going to Shirley who continued her good form this year to emerge as a clear winner. It was a great experience for both bowlers who are sure to graduate as majors in the future.

Judging by the number of entries received to date for Urunga's Camellia Triples Carnival on 12 and 13 June there is every possibility that the greens will be filled to capacity. The first 28 teams nominated will be accepted and as only about three vacancies remain at this stage if you haven't already organised a team it would be wise to do so without delay to avoid disappointment. Nomination fee $60 per team to accompany entry (2) days and all entries accompanied by payment to be made to Isabel Pettit, Secretary, UWBC, 60 Hillside Drive, Urunga, 2455, Ph. 66556529. Urunga is grateful to JDR Windows and Doors Coffs Harbour who are proudly sponsoring the Carnival.
Last Thursday Urunga bowlers sadly farewelled much loved former President Janet Pepper who is retiring from bowls due to family and health concerns. Janet is well known in the district as a National Umpire and her services and keen sense of humour will be greatly missed, not only in the district but by her many bowling friends. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be possible for Janet to return to the green at some time in the future.
