Urunga Boaties competed at the Country Championships at South West Rocks on the weekend. We had both Masters and Reserves compete, however, it was the Masters that was in contention once again for a podium finish. They gained 2 x firsts and a second in their heat qualifying them into the Semi finals. Rowing like champions, they secured second place putting them straight into the Finals. All nervous and revved up, the boys rowed as best they could under the conditions, but unfortunately, missed out on the podium and gained 5th position. Well done Men, to even make it to the finals is a HUGE feather in your cap. Keep up the good work, and doing Urunga Surf Club Proud! Garry Howe also competed, results in next week’s column. Stingers were prevelant on the beach on Sunday, forcing lifesavers to close the beach. This is a shame as they have been showing up the last couple of weeks. Surf Club would like to remind visitors to the beach to swim between the flags.. SURF BOAT TRAINING: Tues & Thurs 4.30pm Anchors Boat Ramp.
