Consequently, the girls started slowly and found it difficult against a very determined Tenterfield team. Half way through the first half they started getting their passing game going and repeatedly threatened to score. Finally it came with a square ball from Sam Barker finding the feet of Jayden Morgan who quickly passed it on to Jess Marks in the clear who made no mistake finishing the goal.
So the score at half time was 1-0, with the Bellingen girls dominating the midfield. The Tenterfield girls did not give up with a couple of fast forwards causing some concern, although defenders Amelia Brewin, Brie Thomas, Olivia Cooke and Zali Rees with keeper Gita Pastro did a great job keeping Tenterfield scoreless. The further the game progressed the more dominant the Bellingen girls became. Many raids on the goal with good goal scoring opportunities still saw the score not change until Olivia Hulbert got in the clear and made no mistake. Final score 2-0.
The girls now go on to play Trinity College, Lismore to make the final eight teams in the competition stretching from Northern Queensland right through to Victoria including over 400 schools. This game will be played in Bellingen in week 4 next term on Wednesday or Thursday so come and support this very talented team.
