As we so often see, rain in March, resulting in no play at all for the weekend and we proceed straight into the Grand Final. Naturally we would have liked to play for match fitness as the bye last week and no game this week (final) sees us going into the big one a little underdone, but, we are there and have the team to take it out.

After a slow start to the season, two loses from the first two games, we haven’t dropped a game all year and took out the Minor Premiers title by a large margin.

Our team strengths are that we are strong across the field and all players contribute. The Hulbert Bros, Scott and Julian, have had great seasons with both bat and ball and will feature dominantly in the Grand Final as will the young brigade of Louis Balenzano, Adam Marks and Sam Harrison. Throw in some old heads like Nick Hopper, Simon Noble, Paul Balenzano and Maurice Hulbert for guidance we have a very well rounded (sorry Maurie) team.

Other major contributors include James Brownlee (bat/ball/wicket-keeper) and Rob "flowers" Begonia (entertainment) who have both enjoyed their cricket this year. This team took out the 3rd Grade title last year and has stepped up a grade and with a little more commitment have put themselves in a position for the 2nd Grade title, a great achievement.
