Former World Barista Champion Paul Bassett will be at Infusions cafe in Bellingen this Sunday to showcase the world of specialty coffee.
Born and raised in Byron Bay, Paul has developed a strong affinity with the North Coast of Australia and is returning to share with us his passion and knowledge in the art of espresso coffee.
A certified judge and board member of the technical standards committee for the World Barista championship, Paul is involved in the development of standards for espresso coffee worldwide, and his visit will no doubt prove to be an exciting and informative lesson for Bellingen’s countless lovers of coffee.
Paul will be presenting his ‘Dessert Style’ espresso blend, which was developed and used during his winning performance at the World Barista Championship in 2003.
The blend’s taste characteristics are dessert like, expressing toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate and candied fruit notes with subtle biscuity overtones which are further complimented by the coffee’s natural sweetness. The blend has been in use at Infusions since it opened in October last year and Paul, along with Infusions staff, will be preparing complimentary espresso based beverages this Sunday morning from 9.30am at Infusions of Food and Fine Art, Shop 5/103 Hyde St – Next to Kombu.
