Registration has now opened for the next Bellingen EYE camp! The members of the EYE Leadership Group, who are planning the camp, are really excited about holding their first “arts in nature” camp – which will see participants being inspired by a weekend in the incredible bush surrounds of Mt. Hyland, to find their own ways of expressing their creativity.
The “Earthconnect” camp is for senior high school students (currently in Years 10+). This camp is for anyone who wants to be inspired by nature to explore their own creativity – no previous experience necessary. We will spend time in nature, engage in personal projects, and also participate in group experiences, using media such as fibre arts, music, movement, visual arts, and ceramics.
As for the when, how, and where: the camp is from Friday, July 31 to Sunday August 2, and will be held at Mt. Hyland Wilderness Retreat (www.mt-hyland.com) - 1 ½ hours drive from Bellingen. The cost is only $120 which includes travel, lodging in comfy beds, all meals, tuition and materials. (Please note: this camp is already subsidised through a grant from the Foundation for Young Australians – however, there is also a scholarship fund for those who need it. It is Bellingen EYE’s policy that everyone should be able to come to our camps regardless of personal financial situation.)
For more information, go to www.bellingeneye.com, or call Lisa on 0423 362 844. Registration closes Friday, July 17 – but first in best dressed!
